View from the Pub Crawl

As my roommate, Just Brian, and I entered Mr. Days for the pub crawl, I had pains of nostalgia for this past football season. It felt strange not going to Mr. Days to watch the Packers on Sunday afternoons, but my feelings soon changed as I spotted the assembled group of wankers downing their $2 beers in bright blue WH4 Xmas Party plastic cups. I immediately gave my $10 Rude Boy and hurried up to the bar. Black Box was holding court talking to a virgin, Just Randy, who works for the FAA, and others were engaged in the usual Friday night happy hour routine.

About 7:30, Circle Up was called by Rude Boy, and we stumbled out into the alley in front of Mr. Days, the site of many a previous circle. Haley's Cum Yet was called into the circle to lead us in F'Abe, after which we were off on a short walk to the Mad Hatter on M Street between 18th and 19th. Word was that it was very crowded and had too much cigar smoke. From there, the trail led to the Front Page at 19th and Dupont Circle, which was much better. Just Brian, and I caught with the Pack at Mr. Eagen's on Connecticut Avenue, after taking a detour to McCormick and Schmick's to see the other Wagner Brother and some friends.

By the time we got to Mr. Eagen's everybody was in rare form. For Sale or Rent emphatically declared that "Christmas is over." Late Cummer was practicing her best N.Y. subway technique by hanging on a chain. In what was becoming standard practice all night, we were joined on tail by new blood at each bar. It was a pleasure to see Thumper Pumper and Body Shot in from Chapel Hill for the weekend. This is becoming something of an epidemic over the last couple of years in the White House Hash, Body Shot filled me in an the details of their recent engagement!

The trail next led to the Bottom Line on I Street between 17th and 18th. The bar was packed with the normal Friday night crowd who kept asking "Who are these guys?' There we were joined by Monica's Pimp who has just moved back to D.C. from Milwaukee. Don't you just love all the Cheeseheads in the hash! Drop Box, Black Box, and a few other hashers were heard discussing the circumstances of how people get named. A word to the wise, watch your rear if you are dancing with Drop Box. Upon being questioned about the circumstances at Forest Glenn that led to his naming, Thumper Pumper denied everything now that he is engaged. Two of our blond Just hashers, Beth Ann and Macaela, were caught whispering about when they were going to be named. Start thinking of stories about these two!

From there, the trail led to the Tequila Grill at the corner of 20th and K Street, which was empty when we got there. By this time, more out-of-towners had arrived. Looseoo Bald was in from Richmond H3. He had great things to say about the Texas-Wisconsin Border Bar, the Packer bar in Richmond. Just Erin was in from Atlanta H3. A soon-to-be-hash couple in town from Dayton for the Right-to-Life march asked me who we were and want to run with Dayton H3. A lot of the wankers were seen dancing to the Reggae music and I was caught dancing with three lovelies from College Park. Soon OnOn was called and we were back at Mr. Days. Now if the person who absconded with my blue parka would return it, no questions asked, I would be very happy.

Back at Mr. Days, things were going strong. Our by-now-large crowd was drinking, carousing, and dancing. Over a beer, I arranged for our 4th Annual St. Patti's Day hash on March 14. Don't miss it! By this time things started to become a little fuzzy and it is time to say

On On. Mellow Foreskin Cheese
